João de Magalhães, Ph.D. is originally from Porto, Portugal and has lived in Belgium and in Boston in the US, and is also of Spanish ancestry. Professionally, and following training at Harvard Medical School, he is now a Senior Lecturer (equivalent to an Associate Professor in the US) at the University of Liverpool in England where his laboratory studies aging. He has published dozens of scientific papers, including in top journals (e.g., Nature– and Cell-family journals).
