Paul Spiegel, J.D., is an attorney in private practice. His firm, Eclectic Law, provides general counsel services to startups and established companies in biotechnology and other fields. Paul graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1979 and from Boalt Hall School of Law (now BerkeleyLaw) in 1983, and has attended Harvard Law School, the University of Paris, Sorbonne, and International Christian University in Tokyo. Trained in international business law, he worked on Wall Street, on Montgomery Street and in Tokyo before entering private practice in San Francisco. Long an advocate of progressive ideas and legal causes, he has focused on longevity, regenerative medicine and the biology of aging. He is a board member of the International Longevity Alliance, the American Longevity Alliance and the Life Extension Advocacy Foundation. He is a member of Humanity+, Health Extension and carboncopies.org, and provides legal counsel for many transhumanist enterprises.
